FAQs in Buckhannon, WV

Do you offer teeth whitening treatments?

Yes, we do! We offer in-office and take-home teeth whitening treatments to help brighten your smile. In-office whitening provides immediate results, while take-home kits allow you to whiten your teeth at your convenience.

How can I prevent cavities?

One of the easiest ways to prevent cavities is to start with good oral hygiene habits. Brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing removes harmful plaque and food particles from between your teeth. Regular dental check-ups and cleanings also play a huge part in avoiding cavities.

Can you fix a chipped tooth?

Yes, we can! Depending on the size and location, we can repair a chip with dental bonding. This is a tooth-colored resin that bonds to the tooth. For larger teeth, Dr. Conde may use a dental crown to restore the shape and function of your tooth.

What should I do if I have a toothache?

If you have a toothache, it is important to contact us as soon as possible. Pain in your teeth or jaw can indicate a serious issue. In the meantime, you can rinse your mouth with warm saltwater and take over-the-counter pain medicine. These steps can lower your pain until you can get to our office.

How long does it take for Invisalign to straighten teeth?

The time it takes for Invisalign to straighten your teeth can vary based on your needs. On average, treatment can take anywhere from 6 to 18 months. We can create a customized plan for you and let you know how long to expect.

What is the process for getting a dental crown?

Getting a dental crown usually takes two visits. At the first visit, we prepare your tooth by removing any decay and shaping it to fit the crown. Then, we take impressions of your tooth to create a custom crown. You’ll wear a temporary crown until your next visit when we’ll place the permanent crown.

Do you have ways to help me relax during my visit?

Absolutely! We know some people get nervous about the dentist. Dr. Conde likes to talk to her patients to discover the root of their fears. She feels this method is quite effective in helping patients get through their anxiety. Additionally, we have oral conscious sedation for patients with more intense anxiety.

How often should I go to the dentist?

It is usually good to see the dentist and get your teeth cleaned every six months. This timeframe allows us to catch problems early and stop new ones from happening.
